Universal Account Number (UAN):
It is a 12-digit number issued to every EPF subscriber by EPFO on initial appointment in any company/establishment. It is a permanent lifetime number to a EPF subscriber and it will not change during any service. All the service details in different establishments will display under one UAN number.
PF Member ID:
It is an individual Provident Fund Account number allotted to every employee under a specific company. This number is allotted to the employee by an employer through EPFO. This number will change on changing from one company to another company, but the UAN will remains the same.
PF Code Number:
This is the number issued to every individual employer by EPFO on request or mandatorily under certain rules framed under EPF & MP Act, 1952. This code number is in the format of REGIONAL CODE+COMPANY CODE like DL/1234567. The company code number consists of 7 digits. This code number is used by the employer to deposit PF contributions of both employee and employer along with administrative Charges.
