Different types of EPF claims:

The following are the various types of claims a EPF member can claim his/her Provident Fund, Pension Fund or Insurance Fund.

  • Final settlement of Provident Fund (F.No.19 or F.No.20): 

    (a). If a member resigns or attains age of 58 years, he/she can withdraw EPF by applying in F.No.19.

            (b). If a EPF member dies whether in service or not, the nominee can claim EPF of the deceased member by applying in F.No.20.

    • Final settlement of Pension Fund (F.No.10C):

    A member who rendered less than 10 years of service in all, can claim his/her pension fund by applying in F.N.10C. Also apply in the same form for service certificate, if he/she wants to pursue better job/work in another establishment up to the age of 58 years.

    • Application for Pension (F.No.10D):

    A Person who attains the age of 50 years or 58 years, can claim pension in F.No.10D. If EPF member dies, the same claim form must be used by the nominee for claiming Widow/children pension.

    • Application for Advances (F.No.31):

    All EPF members can apply for advances or for partial withdrawal from their EPF accumulations, they must apply in F.No. 31 for illness/marriage/purchase of site/house etc., depending on the length of their service. All are eligible for illness advance irrespective of their service length and can apply limitless number of times.

    • Transfer of EPF accumulations (F.No.13):

    All the EPF members who wants to change a company/job, must transfer their EPF accumulations to the next EPF member ID by applying in F.No.13 after furnishing the date of exit in the previous establishment. This can be done either through present employer or previous employer depending on availability/response of the employer.

    • Application for claiming Insurance amount (F.No.5(if)):

    If a member of EPF dies while in service, the nominee of the deceased member can apply in F.No.5 (if) for claiming Insurance amount under Employees’ deposit Linked Insurance Scheme as framed by EPF & MP Act, 1952.

    Conclusion : All the above claim forms, except F.No.20, 5(if), 10D(for deceased member) have to be applied in EPFO Member home online by using the link https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
